What a great game - blast of fresh air within the 'stacking shelves' trope of indie horror
Combining 'That's not my neighbour' with 'Papers, please' and 'Night of The Consumers', you really feel under pressure to ensure that the place is clean and tidy, the shelves are stacked and that the odd people coming into the store are human.
What I particularly enjoyed about Shift At Midnight were the recurring characters and the seemingly random nature of whether they were a doppelganger or not. Not sure if the demo allows you go past the second shift without incurring the wrath of the SPIDER DEMON, but you definitely have to pay attention to what the customers say in order to find out whether they're human or not. DAMN YOU TOBY!
My only critique is when the spider-demon entity arrives - not sure if 'slowing down' really helps or not, and whether boarding up the place helps. It gives you a cash incentive, sure - but you really just have to get the plopped out eggs as fast as possible. Curious as how the multiplayer will affect the gameplay, but this is definitely something to check out!

And thank you for feedback - I'm currently completely remaking the hunt aspect of the game to make more sense thematically and gameplay wise. That update should come out sometime in the next couple of days.

I already wishlisted it on Steam and I'm telling my friends about it, but I was wondering if a MacOs version was in the plans? I have a friend who'd love to play the game but doesn't have Windows, I was talking to him about it and is just as excited as I am

this game was pretty awesome i really like how you can spot a human and doppelganger and BIG Spider, anyway love the style of game can't wait for the full game to come and already add on my wishlist. 9/10

An actually good and fun game 10/10( i don't give them out lightly) love the scenario were u had to go out side. (Suggestion) would love if for the full game you can add other mini games you have to do on the store to keep the lights(or other things) on for Multiplayer, either Way great game i want more 10/10
This horror game is pretty fun, Little mix between spot the anomalies kind of, to night of consumers with putting the stuff in the correct spot. There is some bugs in the game like when I complete with putting food in the spots, there is still the exclamation point symbol up in the air. Either way that just a small bug notice and I still enjoyed it overall. Definitely can't wait for the full game to come out!!!

Genuinely I thought this game was going to be another lazy knockoff of the doppelganger/alternates genre but it is GOOD! It's creative and fun and really cool. You've got a lot of really good puzzle pieces here and I really hope you can bring them all together!

A fun game, mixing spot the difference in details and even hinting how customer can have different bodies or walk weirdly.
